Protesting Holocaust denial ad in a UW paper

MADISON (WKOW) -- Students and staff on the University of Wisconsin - Madison campus are protesting an ad in a student newspaper that links readers to a website denying the Holocaust.

Hundreds of people, including Chancellor Biddy Martin, protested on Library Mall Wednesday.

The ad appeared in the Badger Herald and on the paper's website Monday, February 22.

While the ad doesn't explicitly deny the Holocaust, it links to a website where a blogger denies it ever happened.

"This is a despicable thing," said the Executive Director of UW-Hillel Greg Steinberger,
"To the Jewish community, it suggests that we're being greedy, that we're lying, that we created this whole ten million deaths. Students are really upset by it."

Steinberger says the ad should be removed from the Herald's paper and website and that the Herald should monitor its ads better in the future.

Well, he got that right.

I was just thinking the same thing! See how they're trying to get that figure up? Now he slips in TEN million deaths.

Hey, that should be good for some more cash. :-)

I suggest everyone read Norman Finklestein's excellent book "The Holocaust Industry" that says it all. (Written by a Jew whose parents went through Auschwitz!)
